Two weeks ago we went to Costco in Tracy and a very nice lady was giving the flue shots for $10 dollars without insurance and no charge if the person was insured. My partner didn’t even hesitate and got it done. My son and I stood there waiting. All through out the filling of the forms, the waiting and even while we were shopping she kept asking me: Why don’t you get it done? Why don’t you get it done? Why don’t you get the flu shot? Why? My response to her was always: Winter is almost gone!
I was right about winter being almost gone BUT I wasn’t right thinking I would not get sick. Yesterday afternoon I started with the symptoms of a very bad flu. It all initiated itself with my throat, then my bones, my head and my ears. I literally felt miserable. By the time we all went to bet I was in very bad shape and my son was with a soar throat and uncomfortable. My partner had some symptoms but nothing like what I had gotten. Tonight I am much better but I still can’t swallow and I feel like I have an internal fever. I can’t wait to go to bed. I am glad my son is not that bad and my partner, well she was the only one that had the flu shot to she is 90% better.
After this experience I have one question for you: Did you get the flu shot yet?
That’s it for now!

Here are a couple of great videos I added to my YouTube playlist. Actually I subscribed to the channel so I can get updates. Enjoy them. I personally love it! Mishka, the dog, also says “I love you”, “Obama” and more.
I just received a phone call from Hansley Thomas (Community Marketing Specialist at Herr Foods Inc). He said he was reading my blog and wanted to make a correction to the list of foods that have been recalled. The MSN list showing that Herr Foods Inc. has recalled it’s sea salt flavor kettle chips is incorrect. The product that was recalled is Herr’s “Cracked pepper and sea salt kettle cooked potato chips.” He emailed me as well and attached a copy of the press release showing such information.
Herr Foods’ Press Release reads as follows:
Recall – Firm Press Release
Herr Foods Inc. Recalls ‘Herr’s Cracked Pepper and Sea Salt Flavored’ Kettle Style Potato Chips Because of Possible Health Risk

Sr. VP of Manufacturing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –
March 8, 2010 – As a precautionary measure and concern for our consumer safety, Herr Foods Inc of Nottingham, PA is voluntarily recalling ‘Herr’s Cracked Pepper and Sea Salt Flavored’ Kettle Style Potato Chips. The product is being recalled because it contains HVP (hydrolyzed vegetable protein) manufactured, distributed and recalled by Basic Food Flavors, Inc., Las Vegas, NV. The ingredient from Basic Food Flavors has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
Herr’s has a strong commitment to consumer safety and the highest quality standards. Salmonella has not been found in any Herr’s products and there are no known illnesses reported. Read the rest of this entry »
