Average price per square foot for Livermore CA was $236, a decrease of 2.5% compared to the same period last year. The median sales price for homes in Livermore CA for Dec 09 to Feb 10 was $360,000 based on 247 home sales. Compared to the same period one year ago, the median home sales price decreased 2.7%, or $10,000, and the number of home sales decreased 22.8%.

There are currently 188 resale and new homes in Livermore as per Trulia, including 449 homes in the pre-foreclosure, auction, or bank-owned stages of the foreclosure process. The average listing price for homes for sale in Livermore CA was $685,035 for the week ending Mar 03, which represents an increase of 0.4%, or $2,483, compared to the prior week.

Mountain House Summary

Average price per square foot for Mountain House CA was $120, a decrease of 8.4% compared to the same period last year. The median sales price for homes in Mountain House CA for Dec 09 to Feb 10 was $300,000 based on 152 home sales. Compared to the same period one year ago, the median home sales price decreased 4.8%, or $15,000, and the number of home sales decreased 16%.

Plan To Sell Your Home By Yourself?

There are people out there that are not interested in hiring a Realtor® to sell their home because they are determined to sell it themselves.    Often the idea of selling is related to the actions of sticking a pole in the ground, posting a “for sell by owner” sign, getting rid of the house and saving the commission % the broker charges.
I wish it were that easy.  Here are a few things you should do if you are following this route.
First you need to find out what is involved this way you’ll be able to determine if you can handle the load.  And I say this because there are more than just a couple of things involved in the process.   If your time is limited you should stop reading and hire a Realtor because one thing you will need is time to dedicate to the promotion of your listing and what comes after that.
One of the most crucial things you must consider is the promotion of your listing.  If you don’t expose your house to the world you will not get viewers for your house.   You might be thinking the Internet will take care of this point but the truth is you won’t be able to list your house on the Multiple Listing System, which is a tool Realtors® use to list their inventory.  This of course is unless you are a Realtor® or you are represented by one.  By doing it yourself your advertising will be posted in places that may not get as much traffic or may not be fully dedicated to real estate as Realtors’ sites are.  With that being said, Read the rest of this entry »
